Gabon BIETC Important Update

Gabon requires the BIETC (Bordereau d'Identification Électronique des Traces de Cargaisons) for all maritime imports. This electronic cargo tracking document is mandatory for clearance at Libreville and Port-Gentil.

Key points: Apply before vessel departure. Submit Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Freight Invoice, and Packing List. The BIETC must be validated before the vessel arrives at the Gabonese port.

Transit cargo: Shipments transiting through Gabon to landlocked neighbours (e.g. Congo, Central African Republic) may also require BIETC. Verify with your forwarder or GetCTN.
