Republic of Congo ECTN Mechanism Detailed Explanation

11 November 2020

How the Republic of Congo ECTN works: validation process, documents, and port clearance.

The Republic of Congo (Congo-Brazzaville) requires ECTN for all maritime imports to Pointe-Noire and other ports.

How it works: Submit your documents to an authorized agent like GetCTN. The agent verifies the data and submits to the Congolese authorities. Once validated, you receive the ECTN certificate. Present it at customs for clearance.

Documents required: Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading, Freight Invoice, Packing List. The ECTN is linked to your Bill of Lading number – ensure it matches exactly.

Transit: Cargo transiting through Pointe-Noire to landlocked countries (e.g. Central African Republic, Chad) may also require ECTN. GetCTN can advise on your specific case.
