New Acid Certificate Implemented In Egypt

Egypt has implemented the ACID (Advance Cargo Information Declaration) certificate for imports. Unlike many African countries where ECTN applies mainly to sea freight, Egypt requires ACID for sea, air, and land shipments.

Requirements: Submit cargo details, Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading (or AWB for air), and other supporting documents. The ACID must be obtained before cargo arrival.

Purpose: ACID helps Egyptian customs pre-assess shipments, reduce fraud, and speed up clearance. Non-compliance results in cargo detention and fines.
